Day in the life of an operational manager

So again I am completely humbled by the phone calls I receive from the public who want to help, here are some of the conversations I have had this week, the following are actual emails received from clients in their own words;

“me and my partner want to donate to the food bank, we have done our weekly budget and have included an amount each week we will buy and drop off to you………..”

“What are you short of?…(We are desperate for tinned meat products for our emergency parcels that go to schools…) ok will two trays help?”

“Our son has now gone to university and we want to use the money in the budget to support you, can I drop this off weekly?”

“Hi I am interested in helping the charity in which ever means I can I run a business in ***** and I am originally from wigston I have a clean driving licence and also interested in sponsoring equipment if I can Please get in touch”

AND THIS IS WHY WE DO IT…….

“Im currently on esa . Due to recent financial mishaps I have no food or provisions, as in toothpaste and toilet roll or funds for the next 8 days and desperately need aid if available. I’ve only been able to afford cereal and toast. Now i find the lack of protein has become a health issue. I pray my plea is heard, thank you.”

“Hi I’ve never had to don this so I don’t no where to start but we were on was as partner waiting on full *** op and just had operation and still recovering but had on going issues we have appealed but heard nothing even housing has stopped we have 5 children and me and partner and literally have no money to buy food and I don’t no who or where to turn we have literally had sandwiches and toast and older two meals at school I don’t get tax credits until the **** of April and worrying how i can get a little help for food I’ve never had to turn for help has always was fortunate what do i do or where do I go I’m on Leicester *** area Many thanks”

“Hello There I’m A single mother , get universal credit but it’s not enough for all of my items. I need to pay rent which is 600 and my universal is 470 🙁 I need some help please, as my budget it’s so small and I have to buy a food for me and my daughter. If You can help me please…”
