Everyone at Leicester South Foodbank is absolutely thrilled with a great new initiative being put in place by the Aylestone Lane Allotment Association.
These green-fingered folk working their allotments produce plenty of tasty fruit and veg, in fact, a bit too much for them to know what to do with it turns out (you’re just too good at growing guys!).
Anyway, their new scheme will be making this fresh locally-grown produce available to the community and what’s even more amazing is that the proceeds will be donated to Leicester South Foodbank to help cover our operating costs.
Run in conjunction with the wonderful Wigston Fields News and Deli (https://notjustacornershop.com/), you can get your hands on this fresh local fruit and veg by visiting the store at 29 Carlton Drive, Wigston Fields, Leicestershire, LE18 1DF.
We’re so grateful for the support of the people and organisations behind the scheme and love the fact this is an initiative that will benefit so many people in our local community in different ways.
Leicester South Foodbank is always looking for ways to fund the operational costs required to keep our doors open, our emergency food parcels going out and our van on the road. As well as brilliant fundraising schemes just like this, we’re also crowdfunding on charity website Chuffed and you can donate, get involved and make a real difference to your community by clicking here.
