Welcome to Tesco Syston new collection point

We are pleased to welcome Tesco Metro on Melton Rd, Syston as our latest distribution point. Foodbank Operations Manager Bruce met with Community champion Lisa to place the collection basket in the store.

Lisa said “We get about 3000 customers a day, we have placed the basket in a great position and should see some great donations from our customers.”

While we were setting up, Tesco customers were already placing items in the basket.

“We have another collection point in Syston and Thurmaston, as well as one of our hubs being in Syston, so people can get direct support from their community” Bruce was keen to stress.

Leicester South Foodbank is now supporting more and more marginalised people, we are supplying about 30 emergency food parcels a week, these collection points are vital to our continued support for struggling people in our community.
