Soggy scouts and guides of Charnwood 2019 camp aren’t disheartened

3rd September 2019

Charnwood 2019, where youngsters from all over the world were setting up their tents for a week of fun and educational activities. A total of 23 countries were represented, including Ghana, New Zealand and Malaysia, as well as boys and girls from scout groups all over Leicestershire. Unfortunately they were having a bit of rain – or, as chief scout Bear Grylls calls it, scout sunshine.

True to scouting tradition the torrential rain did not put them off, and even when they had to cut short the week, they’re were thinking how they could help others and contacted us. We dispatched our van and carefully manoeuvred the muddy ground to be loaded up with the food and supplies they had left and were unable to use.

A big shout out to the scouts for thinking of us and their discomfort meant that our clients received some comfort….well done!
